anywhere else! We have been in the business of selling Oakland Raiders
tickets for over 12 years and offer secure online ordering, great prices

Another bright sign for the Raiders is the singing of defensive powerhouse Warren Sapp and the hole plugging Ted Washington.
Hopefully with these defensive additions and a healthy veteran offense the Raiders will get back to their 2002-03 Super Bowl form and
battle it out in the AFC playoffs, only time and the 2004-05 NFL football season will tell!

| Oakland Raiders team history |
The Oakland Raiders are in the NFL's AFC West division along with the Denver Broncos,
San Diego Chargers and the Kansas City Chiefs. The Raiders would start in San Francisco, even though they
were still named the Oakland Raiders until a new stadium could be built. In 1960-1962 the Raiders started play in the AFL and would not
fair well in the first 2 seasons. In 1963, Al Davis was hired as coach and general manager and he quickly turned things around. The Raiders finished the season
10-4. After several seasons of coming close to contention the Raiders would reach Super Bowl II (which at the time was just called the AFL and NFL championship game).
The Raiders would play the almighty Green Bay Packers under hall of fame coach Vince Lombardi, losing 33-14. The Raiders would not back it back to the Super Bowl until 1977
against the Minnesota Vikings. In this Super Bowl contest wide receiver Fred Biletnikoff (known by many for using stick-em before it was banned by the NFL) caught several key passes and the Raiders
cruised to a 32-14 Super Bowl NFL playoff victory. During the next few years the Raiders would come close to a Super Bowl but were defeated by tough defensive teams, like the Denver Broncos. In 1980, now famous coach John Madden was
replaced by an old Raiders QB standout, Tom Flores. The Raiders under Flores reached the Super Bowl in 1981 against the favored Philadelphia Eagles as the first wildcard to do so.
Quarterback Jim Plunkett led the Raiders with 3 TD passes on the unsuspecting Philadelphia Eagles defense. Te irony of the Super Bowl Victory of the Raiders in Super Bowl XV was that the Raiders were involved in a nasty lawsuit
at the time with then NFL commissioner Pete Rozelle, so after the Super Bowl victory Rozelle had to award Al Davis the Lombardi Trophy. in 1982, the Oakland Raiders would move to Los Angeles, becoming the
Los Angeles or L. A. Raiders. They would once again reach the NFL Super Bowl in 1984 and face a very tough Washington Redskins team led by stars Joe Theisman and John Riggins. In this matchup, the Raiders running back Marcus Allen
shined scoring 3 touchdowns including an awesome 75 yard touchdown run which sealed the game and gave the Raiders a 38-9 Super Bowl victory. The Raiders would not reach the Super Bowl again until 2003, which was an interesting one to say the least.
Former Raiders coach, Jon Gruden, who helped revitalize the ailing franchise during the late 90's up until the 2002 season and now was coaching the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would meet his former team. Not only that but in 2002 the Raiders had one of the most powerful
offenses led by veteran wide receiver Jerry Rice and QB Rich Gannon, who had a stellar year against one of the best defenses in the NFL, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers led by Warren Sapp. This matchup proved to be anything but a defensive struggle. The Raiders would score the first points on a
field goal after a Bucs turnover during the first quarter. However, Tampa Bay would go on to intercept 2 Rich Gannon TD passes and real off 34 straight points against a stunned Oakland Raiders defense. The Raiders tried to huddle around Gannon and come back in the game, scoring 3 straight touchdowns, however it was just not
enough as the Buccaneers still cruised to victory 48-24, and Gruden got his revenge against his former team for letting him go.
