| Cincinnati Bengals team history |
The Cincinnati Bengals are one of the 4 teams in the NFL's AFC North Division.
The Bengals became an NFL franchise in 1970, just 2 short years after starting in
the AFL under then owner Paul Brown, the man in which their new stadium is named after.
In that time the Bengals have managed to get to 2 Super Bowls, with their most notable team in 1988. A team
led by Boomer Esiason and fan favorite Icky Woods, who was known to do the Icky Shuffle, an end zone dance after
a touchdown, copied by many but never equaled. But like in 1981, when the Bengals fell to the 49ers, they would fall again, this time on a last minute
pass by Joe Montana to John Taylor with only 34 seconds remaining. Many consider the 1984 49ers team to be one of the best teams of all time, so Cincinnati really and nothing to
be ashamed, however it would be their best chance at an NFL crown to this day...
